Volunteer

The Lane Victory runs on 100% volunteer power!
The ship's continued existence is only possible thanks to the hard work, dedication, and love of the volunteers who keep her looking good and running true.

Join the crew who keeps this national treasure alive!

Make new friends, learn new skills, hear the sea stories from Merchant Marine and Naval Armed Guard veterans, and feel amazing adding your effort to conserve this living monument.

Volunteering on the Vessel

Can anyone volunteer?
Yes, pretty much!

No mariner experience is needed, and you don’t need to have been a crewman or sailor of any type.

Of course, we are always looking for experienced mariners and steam engineers.

Mariners-by-trade and landlubbers alike are always welcome.

When can we volunteer and what do we do?
Choose what works for you!

Each individual works when they can work, and they do the work they choose to do.

We do have crew work days on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, but if you can’t work on those days, you can work on the days that fit your schedule.
