About Us

Our Commitment
Restoring, maintaining, and operating the ship to provide a living historical monument dedicated to the recognition contributions and achievements made by Merchant Mariners.

OUR SHARED MISSION AT THE

Lane Victory Maritime Center

Our mission is to restore and maintain the S.S. Lane Victory in a fully-operational and sea-worthy condition.

This way, the public can enjoy the ship as she serves in her role as a living historical monument, memorial space, and museum highlighting the crucial contributions and sacrifices of the U.S. Merchant Marine Service and the U.S. Naval Armed Guard in protecting this country and maintaining vital supply lines during times of war.

The S. S. Lane Victory is manned by volunteers, and in addition to its historical significance, provides a training site for fire, police, port security, and military personnel, as well as a center of historical education for maritime students, schools, scout groups and the general public.
